Welcome to the Post Card collection.

 

Each of these postcard sized pieces of original artwork is inspired by, and gains its title from, an early 20th century postcard 

( which is sold along with the picture, attached to the back)

 

Inspired by the work of the surrealist movement these collages have been restricted to just three elements, the landscape, the living and the light, all set onto an acrylic painted board.

Written 100 years ago the postcards  provide a narrative for the picture. Beautifully written and often pithy in humour they take the observer deeper into the picture finding relationships and dependencies in colour, theme, light and shadow.

These pictures are a delight to do and have been exhibited and sold in places such as  the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition, RBSA and Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry.

Each collage is beautifully custom framed by Foxwist of Shipton-Upon-Stour and measures 27cm x 31cm.
