This postcards was sent in 1904 from Newcastle On Tyne to an address in London describing the journey of the writer and her companion Jack took by ship. It seems that the North Sea that day was rather stormy and “Poor Jack had a rough time of it"!

Dear Harry

Arrived safe at 5.20 after a very rough voyage. All passengers were sick and unable to take their meals except two. Fortunately I was one of the two. Poor Jack had a rough time of it. However all’s well that ends well.

The postcard used to form the base of the picture is Tynemouth Pier, possibly somewhere Jack visited on his travels.
